Vancouver's
popular west side is renouned for its amazing mountain vistas,
wonderful parks, including a best kept secret, Pacific Spirit Park
(the largest inner city park in the world, a stand of giant Douglas
Firs, with countless jogging and hiking trails), VanDusen Gardens,
Queen Elizabeth Park and also great beaches such as Jericho Beach,
Spanish Banks and Kits Beach. The west side's popularity is also well
based in its' many shopping districts such as Kerrisdale, West 4th
Avenue, the Point Grey Village, South Granville and Granville Island.
Most of the city's best restaurants are located in our west side
neighbourhoods. As well, the west side is an ideal setting for those
who love to sail, kayak, jog, take a yoga class, go roller blading,
cycling, golfing, play some beach volleyball, or just hang out in a
great book store.
In
and near the Point Grey Village you will discover some of the city's
best restaurants, boutique shopping, bakeries, delis, gift shops,
grocery and produce stores, wine and liquor stores, cafés and coffee
houses, tea houses, an international newspaper outlet and much more.
UBC is a 25 minute walk, a faster jog, a still faster cycle ride or a
few minutes on the express bus. Two blocks to the north is Trimble
Street Park with amazing vistas of the city, another great spot from
which to watch the fireworks during the several summer festivals.
Pacific Spirit Park, 763 hectres of wilderness parkland with hundreds
of jogging and walking trails, is entered only a few blocks from
either facility. Jericho Beach and Spanish Banks, the city's best
beaches, are also very nearby.
